The Next SA Wins the Title at PIA 2018

Airlangga University students once again succeeded in making their alma mater proud in the accounting competition activity entitled "ACTION (Accounting Competition)" in the 2018 Accounting Scientific Week series of events. nice organized by the Accounting Department Student Association, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Purwokerto on 5-7 October 2018 with the theme "Make This Opportunity to Become an Accountant with Integrity".

Start with preliminary round which was followed online by teams from various universities in Indonesia. This competition succeeded in screening the 15 best teams to compete in the ACTION PIA semifinals in the city which is nicknamed the city of heroes. The 15 teams were from STIE Perbanas Surabaya, Hassanudin University, Semarang State University, PKN STAN, STIE Sebi, Indonesian Islamic University, Muria Kudus University, Wijaya Kusuma University, Bogor Agricultural University, Panca Sakti University Tegal and Airlangga University.

Preliminary rounds has escorted Rizky Wasis Pratama, Vivi Ayu Kurniawati, and Mega Nur Alita Sari as delegates from Universitas Airlangga. The three departed on Friday, October 5 at 10.45 WIB and arrived back in Surabaya on Sunday, October 7 at 03.47 WIB. The first series of events on Saturday includes individual round, group roundsand round jackpot. In the individual round, each delegate works on a question multiple choices individually. Followed by a group round, each team worked on the questions in a relay after discussing beforehand to determine the strategy. The final round for the semifinal round is the jackpot round. In this round there are 15 questions with varying difficulty levels that are done in groups and the point value is also linear with the level of difficulty of the questions. After the end of the semifinal round, there was a technical meeting attended by all participants.

On the second day of the competition, it was greeted with the announcement of the team that succeeded in continuing to the next round, namely final rounds. Based on the calculation results score  in the previous round, Universitas Airlangga was declared to have passed in the next round. In the final round there are two rounds, namely case presentation and presentation accounting battles. The case regarding the ethics of an auditor became the main topic in the presentation round. While in the accounting battle, each team received mandatory questions about accounting and also contested questions that were contested by the three teams that passed the final round. After all the ACTION PIA series ended, the Universitas Airlangga Delegation was declared the third winner and was surpassed by a team from STIE Perbanas Surabaya as the first winner and the second winner was won by a team from the State University of Semarang. As the third winner, Universitas Airlangga delegation has the right to bring home trophies, certificates and coaching money. The Unair team nicknamed “The Next SA” revealed that the experience of being between the participants and the ACTION committee and the tense and fun atmosphere of the competition were something that could not be valued in rupiah. In addition, all of this cannot be separated from the support of faculties such as Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Sc., Ak. as dean, Dr. Rudi Purwono, SE., MSE. as Vice Dean 1 and all parties who cannot be mentioned one by one. The delegation team hopes that this victory will motivate us to continue to make achievements. Don't be satisfied because small thing that you had already reached in your past.
