THE 7TH JAVA BUSINESS COMPETITION
Three Airlangga University Students take part in the final session of the annual competition The 7th Java Business Competition (National Business Case Competition) held by Telkom University, Bandung on September 27-28, 2018. KThis competition is a place for the younger generation to be creative and get to know various cases in the business world.
Three students who represented UNAIR in the competition THE 7TH JAVA BUSINESS COMPETITION (NATIONAL BUSINESS CASE COMPETITION) is Haflan Alfiri Widrayat, Wahyu Rais Agung and Adinda Audrey Noviella, all three of whom are students of the Faculty of Economics and Business class 2017. Megamind Team, the name of the group from UNAIR representatives who brought a business case regarding Forecasting or Business Planning.
Various activities were carried out in conjunction with the competition, starting from a study visit to Bandung Technopark to learn more about Startup incubators to researching about Bandung Technopark itself and also the Business World.
The announcement of the competition which was the highlight of the event was held on Saturday, September 28 2018, at Bandung Technopark Hall, Bandung. Out of a total of 74 proposals Business case which has passed a series of selections, the fifteen best teams are selected to enter the final selection.
Wahyu Rais Agung as the leader of the Megamind team, admitted that he did not expect to get the opportunity to participate in the final session of this prestigious national competition. In fact, he was pessimistic because he felt lack of experience. He and his team carried out the concept of Forecasting with the Time Series Decomposition method which was deemed suitable for the given case, namely regarding operations and marketing.
βThe idea creation process takes about two weeks. Luckily, we were classmates in many subjects, so we knew each other's busy lives. Likewise, managing time is also relatively easy,β explained Wahyu as the head of the Megamind Team.
For Wahyu, students should not only study in class. Because according to him, what the company needs is not only theory in class. Various abilities obtained when fighting in a competition, for example, unconsciously become soft skills useful in the world of work. We are determined to continue to participate in various competitions to bring the good name of Airlangga University. (*)
