National Essay Competition Interdisciplinary Scientific Competition For Nation Development, hereinafter referred to as “ISCOOL 2018” is one of the work programs of the ERC (English and Research Community) Faculty of Social Sciences, State University of Semarang which aims to increase student creativity and increase student interest in the field of scientific work. "ISCOOL 2018” itself has the theme “Implementation Sustainable Development Goals in the Global Era", with this essay competition students are expected to be able to contribute in the form of ideas or thoughts in writing. More than that, students are also expected to be able to explore the potential that exists within themselves.

This event takes place from Thursday to Sunday, October 25-28 2018. The delegation from Universitas Airlangga is Tita Novita Sari from the 2015 Islamic Economics Study Program.

On October 25, the participants started arriving in Semarang. The committee started to pick up the participants from various pick-up points/places, namely Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang, Tawang Station, Poncol Station, Terboyo Terminal, and Ungaran Corner Terminal. After that the participants rested and continued with a technical meeting at night at Wisma Menorah.

The next day, on October 26, 2018, participants entered the main event, namely the presentation of the essay finalists. The finalists were 14 essay participants who successfully passed the essay selection from 154 total participants throughout Indonesia. The main event was held at the LP2M Building, 3rd Floor, Semarang State University. The event started with entertainment, greetings from various parties, namely the chairman of the committee, the head of the ERC, and the dean of FIS, and prayers.


After the finalists enter the presentation room. Presentations are carried out in turns with random numbers. The assessment was carried out by 3 judges who are lecturers at the State University of Semarang. The presentation was held until 16.00 then the participants returned to Wisma Menoreh to rest.


The next event on October 27 was an International Discussion with the theme The Role of Youth to Achieving SDGs 2030. The event was attended by UNNES exchange program students from various countries, namely Vietnam, Madagascar, India, China, and Columbia. The event was held at the 2rd Floor LP3M Building, Semarang State University. After that proceed with the announcement of the winner and closing. The Airlangga University delegation was ranked 7th out of 14 Finalists.

The last day on October 28, 2018 Participants visited various historical places in Semarang, namely Lawang Sewu, Sampokong. After that, the participants returned to their respective campuses.


Every race fighter is a winner, because he managed to fight the fear in himself to fight in the race field against many competitors.

The race is not just about winning or losing. But about the process of forging oneself in every struggle in it. About an experience and a valuable relationship in it.
