Knowledge without action is madness, and action without knowledge is futility

Youth is the next generation of the nation's development struggle. There are many examples of youth who have succeeded in building and contributing to their nation in their own ways. Likewise with today's youth, especially youth who are members of the AcSES ormawa (Association of Sharia Economic Studies), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga. As a means to achieve this goal, AcSES holds a KAFILAH (Muamalah Fiqh Study) which is a study that discusses things that happen in the economic field from an Islamic point of view. In the management period 2017 – 2018, AcSES has held 5 (five) studies which were held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga.

The first KAFILAH was held on March 9 2018. The study which took place in Mindrowo Hall, FEB, UNAIR raised the theme “Obey Zakat is a Reflection of Great People”. The study filled by Dr. Imron Mawardi (Lecturer of Islamic Economics FEB UNAIR), explained about the effect of zakat in the context of human development if it is implemented properly. If zakat can be a source of the state budget, then it will help government spending a lot in alleviating poverty in the community, not only that zakat can also solve other macro and micro problems in this country if managed properly and appropriately.

On April 13 2018, the second KAFILAH was again held with a very extraordinary speaker, namely Dr. Imron Mawardi as a speaker with the theme "The Challenges of Sharia Fintech in Indonesia". Located in the Mindrowo Hall, this time KAFILAH discussed the latest issues, namely financial transactions through financial technology (fintech), then the development of fintech in Indonesia and the world, as well as the role of sharia-based fintech in Indonesia in the successful use of fintech.

Furthermore, the third KAFILAH was held on May 15, 2018 at the Soepoyo Hall. In collaboration with FoSSEI (Forum Silaturrahmi Islamic Economic Studies) National with the title Amil Goes to Campus, this time Amil Goes to Campus tries to provide knowledge and understanding related to the profession of amil (zakat collector) to students, including how the prospects for the future and show the potential where students can be involved. Amil Goes to Campus presented several speakers, including Agung Wicaksono (National Presidium of FoSSEI), Drs. Syamsul Bahri (Head of the East Java Ministry of Religion Regional Office), Abdul Ghofur (Director of Mandiri Amal Insani), and Rizki Okto Priansyah (Executive Director of the National Amil Zakat Institute BSM).

Then, on September 7, 2018 the fourth KAFILAH was present with the theme "Knowing Sharia Insurance in the Millennial Era" in room 316. The speaker was no less interesting, Iis Rofiatin (Secretary for Development of FoSSEI East Java 2010 – 2011) was present and willing to share his knowledge with the participants. CARAVAN. He introduced the importance of having insurance in life, especially when an unexpected accident occurs. In addition, KAFILAH participants are also invited to plan their finances for future needs, including a simple financial planning simulation that is very easy to try and practice.

As the closing of the 2018 KAFILAH period, AcSES presented this study again on October 19, 2018. Presenting Tegar Rismauar Nurnyitmawan (Islamic banking practitioner and AcSES alumni). The last KAFILAH raised the theme "Becoming a Youth Pionner of Sharia Transactions". This study discusses sharia transactions and the urgency to be applied in everyday life, as well as discussing current issues in society, especially in the economic field.
