IC – CEPA

Chile is Indonesia's third largest trading partner in the South American region after Brazil and Argentina (2018). On December 14, 2017 became an important history in bilateral relations between Indonesia - Chile. This is because the two countries signed a comprehensive economic partnership agreement known as the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA). This agreement was signed by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Enggartiasto Lukita and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, Mr. Heraldi Munoz Valenzuela.

The purpose of the IC-CEPA is to encourage equitable economic growth and development, encourage cooperation in several potential areas of the two countries, stimulate Indonesian business actors to target non-traditional markets, and make Chile a link for Indonesian export products in Latin America.

Indonesian products that receive a 0% tariff on the Chilean market include agricultural products, fishery products, and manufactured products. Meanwhile, Chilean products that receive a 0% tariff on the Indonesian market include agricultural and fishery products, mining products, and industrial products. (ros)
