UNAIR NEWS – Currently the industrial revolution 4.0 is the biggest challenge for universities in Indonesia. In order to strengthen networks in the business world and the world of work, it is necessary to develop, synergize, and match the curriculum for universities. 

Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Airlangg Universitya (UNAIR) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to discuss curriculum development based on the industrial revolution 4.0 on Saturday (19/6/2021). Precisely carried out hybrid via platform Zoom and offline at the KRMT Fadjar Notonegoro hall. The theme of the Business World Industry Forum – The World of Work and Curriculum Development Based on the Industrial Revolution 4.0, Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Merdeka Learning – Independent Campus (MBKM) were carried in the activity.

In his speech, the Dean of FEB Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak. CMA., CA., mentions the need for alignment of the education curriculum in higher education. Especially for the faculty of economics and business to suit the industrial revolution 4.0 and its relevance to the world of work.

"This FGD is intended to answer how we can harmonize the education curriculum in higher education," he said.

In order to align the curriculum of the industrial revolution 4.0, students are expected to be able to take part in eight programs that have been carried out by the Merdeka Campus. One of them is an internship or certified work practice.

"Hopefully, with this FDG and at the same time the stakeholder Those who attend this event are able to provide opportunities such as internships or programs that have been carried out by the Merdeka Campus for the FEB students themselves," he said.#

“Through the program by the independent campus, students are able to gain experience and at the same time increase their knowledge and skills skillher," he added.  

That way, the transformation of the world of education in this era through the development of information technology is able to lead students to become graduates who excel in the world of work. "Of course, in aligning the curriculum, FEB itself will immediately carry out grand design curriculum that embraces skills in addition to debriefing Knowledge itself," he said.
