SEVENSHELTER is a major biennial Islamic economics event event aims to bring together students who are passionate about Islamic economics and also serves as a platform to disseminate Islamic economics opinions to the public, especially students.
The seven shelters agenda carries the overarching theme of "Optimizing Islamic Economic Instruments Towards a Civil Society." This theme aims to optimize the role of Islamic economic instruments in creating a society that upholds humanitarian values, advances in science and technology, and is just and prosperous.
The event features four categories: a design competition for university students, an Islamic Economics Olympiad for high school students within the Banyu Mas Residency, a national-level Islamic Economics Olympiad for university students, and a national-level Islamic Economics scientific writing competition for university students. The Islamic Economics Olympiad and the Islamic Economics scientific writing competition are selected to reach the top five finalists.
The teams that made it to the top five of the Islamic Economics Olympiad were one team Universitas Airlangga, two teams from Gunadarma University, and two teams from the Jember State Islamic Institute. The teams that made it to the top five finalists of the Islamic Economics Essay Competition were one team universitas Airlangga, one team from Gajah Mada University, one team from Brawijaya University, one team from General Soedirman University, and one team from Semarang State University.
The final results of the competition showed that two Universitas Airlangga teams won first place in the Islamic Economics Olympiad and first place in the Islamic Economics Essay Competition. Second and third place went to the Gunadarma University team, while second place went to the Islamic Economics Essay Competition, and third place went to the Semarang State University team.
The winner of 1st place from Universitas Airlangga team is a student of the Faculty of Economics and Business, namely the Islamic Economics Olympiad Competition chaired by Sholikudin Alawy, a student of the Islamic economics study program, class of 2017, with members Mar'atus Sholikah from the Islamic economics study program, class of 2017, and Mochammad Bachrul Ulum Fanani from accounting 2015, while the Islamic Economics Scientific Writing Competition was chaired by Yuliandi Fikri, a student of the development economics study program, class of 2015, with members Retno Wulan from the management study program, class of 2015, and Reni Ariesta Wardana, accounting study program, class of 2015.
