(FEB NEWS) On Sunday, November 5, 2023, the National Business Case Competition was held by the Student Association of Undergraduate Management (HIMA S1 Management) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR). The National Business Case Competition is a program aimed at developing critical thinking, innovation and creativity skills, and collaboration in solving problems within the business or corporate sphere. This year, the National Business Case Competition carried the theme "Youth-Driven Sustainable Investments: Exploring ESG-Focused Strategies for Sustainable Economic Growth". This activity was held offline at the Joint Lecture Building (GKB) Campus C, Universitas Airlangga Surabaya.
This year, the 2023 National Business Case Competition addresses SDGs 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 17, Partnerships for the Goals. The competition challenges participants to design sustainable investment strategies that support decent economic growth. This allows them to help create decent jobs and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The competition also provides participants with the opportunity to collaborate, sharing ideas, knowledge, and experiences in developing sustainable investment strategies. By encouraging collaboration and partnerships to achieve the SDGs, the competition supports the broader achievement of sustainable development goals.
In this competition, we invited 3 lecturers from the Management department of FEB UNAIR as judges, namely Mr. Zainul Musthofa, MBA, Mr. Jhon Hardi ST., M.SM., C.SM., CSR.A, and Mr. Mochammad Badowi, MBA, as well as Mrs. Niza Azizah as Assistant Manager of Environmental, Social & Governance Group from PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. as a representative of the jury from our Company Partner.
The activity began with an opening remarks from Tony Gunawan as the Person in Charge of the 2023 National Business Case Competition, followed by remarks by M. Syauqi Anwar as the Person in Charge of Expo 13 Management, followed by Vievania Eunike Putri as the Chairperson of Universitas AirlanggaUndergraduate Management Student Association, and the final remarks were given by Mrs. Dr. Dien Mardhiah SE., M.Si as the Chairperson of Universitas AirlanggaUndergraduate Management Study Program.
The event continued with the drawing of serial numbers for presentations from 6 teams that successfully entered the final round from a total of 60 teams, then continued with presentations from each of the NBCC 2023 finalists. After going through a series of presentations, the first winner was the BCD Consulting team from the University of Indonesia, the second winner was the Grey Consulting team from the University of Indonesia, the third winner was the Upi Edun team from the Indonesian Education University, the first hope was from the Maine Coon team, and the second hope was from the Gacor Kang team. Furthermore, the event closed with an awards session and the awarding of plaques and certificates to the judges who were present.
