PIKMEN FEB UNAIR 2021

(FEB NEWS) 2021 Economics and Business Students Together Intellectual Week (PIKMEN) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga (PIKMEN FEB UNAIR), which was held on 4-5 September 2021 and closed on 11 September 2021 online with 1045 new students for the 2021 academic year /2022, is the first step for new students to make history so they are ready to face the world of higher education.

PIKMEN is the vanguard for new students to produce students who bring change by uniting differences and taking action through introducing the campus environment, culture, community and also the values ​​​​founded in FEB UNAIR. 

 

The event was opened by striking the gong three times by the Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. And accompanied by the Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR – Dr. Wisnu Wibowo, SE., MSi. Many messages were conveyed in the PIKMEN FEB UNAIR 2021 event for “Kestria Muda Airlangga” as the generation of pioneers of change.

The Chief Executive of PIKMEN 2021 – Vania Safira Febrianti (who is also the Secretary of the PSDM Department – ​​BEM FEB UNAIR – from the 2019 Development Economics Undergraduate Study Program) stated in her remarks that the New Students of the 2021/2022 Academic Year are a “special batch”, where they have been facing the never-ending pandemic for 2 (two) years and remain consistent in fighting to pursue their dreams. Furthermore, Vania Safira Febrianti (who is more often called Vania) continued that, “as students we must be able to have an impact, bring influence, bring benefits to society, the surrounding environment and especially our Faculty of FEB UNAIR”.

President of BEM FEB UNAIR – Thariq Priatmodjo mentioned in his speech that students are not only required to study in class, there are many opportunities to develop their potential and students do not have to demonstrate to voice their demands for the existence of the campus. It is enough with achievements to be able to bring good name to the beloved FEB UNAIR campus. The final message from the President of BEM FEB UNAIR before closing his speech, "make every place a school, every person a teacher and every event a lesson for a better future & to become a more useful person.".

The Vice Dean I of FEB UNAIR also agreed with what Vania and Thariq said that to voice the truth, there is no need to go through demonstrations, but it is enough to help the movement through the available positive channels

 

“Special Batch”, Dean of FEB UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA, also agreed that the current batch is called a special batch, as stated in Vania’s remarks. Furthermore, Prof. Dian Agustia, SE., MSi., Ak., CMA., CA. emphasized that as a special batch, “don’t be a KuPu-KuPu (Lecture Home - Lecture Home) student, but between lectures and going home, you must create activities that have a positive impact on the environment”. Students must have 6 competencies, some of which are creativity, communication, critical thinking, and computational thinking. These competencies must continue to be honed and developed. Even the current pandemic conditions should not be an obstacle, but rather, it is necessary to continuously improve the level of self-effectiveness of a student. Hard skills and soft skills are also important aspects for future provisions for FEB UNAIR students.

 

The slogan FEB SATU – UNAIR HEBAT, must be realized, because HEBAT itself has the meaning of Humble, Excellent, Brave, Agile, and Transcendent. Which means not arrogant, honest, humble, all the good qualities and competencies that exist, must continue to be honed and developed within oneself, always daring to work, be creative, achieve, dare to convey the truth, agile, able to move quickly in all things to create creations, take advantage of opportunities, and submit all the hard work and also the final results, only to Allah SWT alone, walk with Him in carrying out various activities, from Him we are grateful for everything with full happiness in working and creating.

 

THE POWER OF YOUTH VOICE IN DIVERSITY is the theme of PIKMEN this year, where the voices of new students will have a major impact on change with all the diversity that exists. With this theme, new students are able to realize that I, YOU, WE are FEB! which is ONE!

PIKMEN 2021 is a series of orientation activities for new students. The goal is to introduce them to the world of college, particularly within the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Unair, and to instill values ​​that foster a sense of pride in the faculty. This series of activities is organized by all FEB Unair student organizations through the PIKMEN 2021 committee. The goal is for new students to become familiar with, take pride in, and love the campus and faculty as a place to grow and develop while studying at FEB Unair.

PIKMEN 2021 carries the theme "The Power of Youth Voice in Diversity." This theme reflects the power of young people who can make a difference in the country, even with small actions. With youth gatherings, all diversity will unite and foster togetherness.

PIKMEN 2021 was held on September 4th and 5th. The event series included a talk show for the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), a talk show for outstanding students (mawapres) and beswan (beswan), a sharing session with FEB alumni, a focus group discussion, and several outreach activities.

PIKMEN 2021 is expected to introduce the world of FEB campus and lectures to new students in 2021, and also through the treatment provided, it can develop the skills of new students in 2021.
