
(Feb News) Proud achievements were re -inscribed by students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB Unair) in the East Java Regional Scientific Meeting event 2025 (Temilreg East Java 2025). The annual competition organized by the East Java Regional Islamic Economic Study Silaturrahim Forum (Fossei) took place on 27-29 June 2025 at Malang State University and was attended by all Islamic Economic Study Groups (KSEI) in East Java.

In the activity aimed at formulating innovative solutions to strengthen Islamic economics in this digital era, FEB Unair students won first place in three main competitions, namely Sharia Business Plan, Sharia Policy Case Study, and scientific papers.

Three works, one spirit of transformation
Scientific Writing - Barakah
The joint team of the Accounting, Islamic Economy, and Management Study Program presents a work titled Barakah, an innovative sharia financing platform based on zakat and productive waqf integrated with blockchain technology. Barakah not only targets halal MSME financing, but also provides gamification -based financial education for business sustainability. This idea is in line with efforts to achieve SDGs 4, 8, 9, 10, and the implementation of ESG principles in the national halal industry.
Sharia Policy Case Study - Integrated Islamic Regulatory Sandbox
In this sub-competition, the UNAIR FEB Team offers solutions in the form of integrated regulatory ecosystems for sharia fintech through the formation of the Joint Supervisory Committee (JSC). Through the application of AI and Blockchain-based systems, ASCMS is able to detect sharia violations in real-time. This work shows the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to accelerate inclusive and sustainable Islamic financial innovation, support SDGs 8, 9, and 16.
Sharia Business Plan - Groverra
The work titled Groverra is an organic mulch innovation from coconut coir waste and rice straw, which is intended as an environmentally friendly alternative to replacing plastic mulch. This product not only supports the practice of green agriculture, but also strengthens the circular economy through the optimization of local waste. With a real contribution to SDGs 2, 12, 13, and 15, this work confirms student commitment to sustainable agriculture.

Strict and competitive selection process
The series of competition activities began at the proposal collection stage, where the best teams from all KSEI in East Java were selected to qualify for the final round in Malang. For two days, the finalists took part in the proposal pitching session, completing case studies, to the sharia motion debate to test the toughness of their ideas in dealing with the dynamics of contemporary issues of Islamic economics.
On the first day, participants presented a proposal to enter the top 6. On the second day, the team proceeded to the completion stage of Case and Moti in a limited time before pitching in front of the jury. The Sharia Policy competition even uses a debate format between TIMs to strengthen the pros and cons arguments.

The hope, innovative works such as Barakah, Integrated Sandbox, and Groverra can be an inspiration as well as a real solution for Indonesia's more inclusive and global competitive economic development.
