The development of very rapid technology currently brings many changes in various aspects, one of which is the accountant profession. Accountants who were once synonymous with analyzing financial data must now have comprehensive capabilities, not only technical skills but must also have special competencies such as advisory , managerial , and forecasting to face the industrial revolution 4.0. Like what the Indonesian Ernest & Young (EY) partner was revealed, Isnaeni Achdiat, "In the digital era, the current should pay attention to big data , not only financial data but non-curized data, for example data sourced from external, including social media" in the aspiring program of professional accounts Festival (APAFEST) 2018 which is held by the Indonesian Accountants (APAFEST). In response to this, the Unair National Accounting Competition 2018 is present with the theme " Comprehensive Accounting Skill Toward the 4th Industrial Revolution ". This event is expected to provide insight for prospective accountants and practitioners that the excellence of an accountant is not only preparing good financial reports, but also must be able to master comprehensive data to help accountants innovate, and provide ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the company. Mastery of governance and risk management also helps maintain the innovations created by accountants in accordance with social and moral values in society.
Apart from that, the event which will take place on 17-20 September 2018 can be a forum for accounting students and practitioners which will be packaged in a series of events aimed at all accounting students in Indonesia as well as a national seminar which is open to the public. UNAC 2018 is divided into 4 sub-events: Competition, Seminar, Company Trip, and Gala Dinner
The main round of the 2018 UNAC competition will feature 30 selected teams consisting of accounting students from across Indonesia through the preliminary round. In addition to competing, participants will also have the opportunity to visit PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka (Pocari Sweat) in Pasuruan, East Java, as part of a Company Trip sub-event.
The 2018 UNAC Seminar, which is part of the UNAC sub-event, will present competent speakers in their fields, including: Dr. Andry Irwanto, SE., MBA., Ak., CMA., CA (FEB UNAIR Lecturer); Stevanus Alexander Sianturi, SE Ak., MForAcc, CPA, CFE, CA (EY Indonesia); Dikdik Sidik Pamungkas, SE. MM., Ak., CA (PT. METALART ASTRA INDONESIA); and Triyoga Laksito (OJK). This seminar will be held on September 19, 2018 at the Kahuripan Hall, Campus C, UNAIR. Seminar participants will get the CA Scholarship Exam facility at no additional cost.
As the highlight of the event, the Gala Dinner was held on September 20, 2018, which also marked the closing of UNAC 2018. The event, which will take place at the Trillium Ballroom, will be an awarding night where all winners will be announced and awarded prizes.
