In order to strengthen the institutional role of students, the Student Legislative Body (BLM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga will conduct a comparative study with the Student Representative Council (DPM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Brawijaya University on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Soepoyo Hall, FEB, Universitas Airlangga from 08.30 WIB until finished. This activity provides a collaborative space between student legislative bodies to exchange ideas, compare institutional systems, and build stronger networks. This comparative study is not only a forum for friendship, but also a means to improve institutional quality through the exchange of experiences and best practices, building strategic networks that can encourage the birth of collaborative programs, and strengthening the values of democracy, participation, and accountability within the organization. In this activity, both parties agreed on the importance of strengthening the legislative function, advocacy, and a shared commitment to building a sustainable collaborative space. This activity is also relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDGs 4 (Quality Education): Comparative studies serve as a platform for cross-campus learning that encourages increased capacity and quality of non-formal education in the student sphere.
- SDGs 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): This activity strengthens student organizations as miniature democratic institutions that uphold transparency, justice, and good organizational governance.
- SDGs 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): This collaboration between two major universities reflects the importance of partnerships to achieve shared goals, both within the student body and through broader contributions to society.
Through this event, it is hoped that students will not only gain new knowledge about institutional management but also be inspired to create work programs that have a real impact on the campus, the community, and even sustainable development. This comparative study is the first step in strengthening the role of students as agents of change capable of responding to the challenges of the modern era with collaboration, innovation, and integrity.
