
The event began with a speech from Dr. Ahmad Rizki Sridadi, SH.,MM.,MH., the third Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga, moderated by Lecturers of the Economics Department at Universitas Airlangga; Wahyu Wisnu Wardana, M. Sc., Haura Azzahra Tarbiyah, M. Sc., and Martha Ranggi Primanthi, Ph. D. This event was also attended by representative of Ikatan Sarjana Ekonomi Indonesia (ISEI) Rizyana Mirda, as Vice Sector Coordinator 1 at ISEI, as well as Universitas Airlangga Undergraduate students.
The exceptional lectures shed light into a specific sector of economics resource misallocation of which Prof. Chen has spent great focus on. One lecture delivered by Prof. Shawn Chen entailed the capability of tax credit in undoing Capital Misallocation, where he proceeded to explain in great detail the span of his research with evidence from the VAT Transformation Reform in China.
Prof. Chen’s lecture brought forth a few topics of discussion in mind and included an interactive session on running daya using Stata. Prof. Chen’s success in delivering exceptional lectures sparked valuable discussions, particularly during the resource misallocation session in the first day and the working paper sharing session in the second day. The material presented by Prof. Chen contributed significantly to the student’s understanding of the subject, offering valuable lessons during the guest lectures.
