
FRESH (Friendship in Economic of Sharia) is an orientation program for new Islamic Economics students designed to introduce the major and the lecture system. This activity is not just an introduction, but also aims to instill basic values that will be implemented comprehensively during the implementation of FRESH 2026. With a structured theme and event concept, FRESH 2026 is expected to be a means of improving the quality and readiness of new students in facing the academic world, especially in the Islamic Economics environment Universitas Airlangga.
The FRESH 2026 series of activities will be held in person (offline) for four weeks, starting on August 7, 2026 and continuing on August 22, 29, 2026 and September 5, 2026, and will close on September 12, 2026. The introduction to the Islamic Economics major will be carried out through the delivery of materials during the orientation period, with a two-way interactive method so that new students can understand more deeply.
Each weekly agenda is designed to support the internalization of the values promoted by FRESH 2026. This year, the main theme is “Collaboration to Active Participation for EKIS”, where FRESH 2026 is designed to encourage new students to be able to build good collaborations, actively participate in academic and non-academic environments, and develop their potential through various experiences provided during the activity.
Through this theme, new students are expected to not only become familiar with the Islamic Economics environment, but also be able to become individuals who have integrity, a spirit of synergy, and a sense of pride as part of the big Islamic Economics family Universitas Airlangga.
The activity begins with the official welcoming of new students on August 7, 2026. Furthermore, Day 1 on August 22, 2026 will contain a seminar on the projections and strategic role of Islamic Economics UNAIR, complemented by a focus group discussion (FGD) session. Day 2 which falls on August 29, 2026, will take place in a relaxed atmosphere in the form of outbound in the campus area, with fun games containing Islamic Economic values and aimed at building cohesiveness and collaboration in the class. On Day 3 on September 5, 2026, new students will present journal presentations that have been prepared with their respective groups as a form of creative thinking and teamwork exercises as well as essays. This activity will conclude with a Closing Party on September 12, 2026 as a symbol of the release of new students to begin their academic journey with the experience of FRESH 2026.
Through this series of activities, FRESH 2026 is expected to provide a means for new students to adapt to the world of college, while also developing students who are able to collaborate, actively participate, and make positive contributions to the Islamic Economics environment Universitas Airlangga. This activity also serves as an initial step in building harmonious relationships between new students and the academic community and fellow students within the department.
The entire series of FRESH 2026 activities are designed in line with efforts to improve the quality of education and develop human resources with character, integrity, and the ability to collaborate in facing future challenges. Therefore, support from various parties, including the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga, is expected to support the smooth and successful implementation of FRESH 2026 as a new student orientation program for the Department of Islamic Economics, Universitas Airlangga.
