CHARITY is a work program of the Social Observer Department of Catholic Spiritual Services FEB UNAIR for the 2020 period. The aim of this event is to foster a sense of brotherhood and a concrete manifestation of love and concern for others, especially for those in need. Apart from that, this activity also aims to strengthen togetherness and closeness among Catholic students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga . This event was held at the Karunia Orphanage and took place on December 5 2020. It started on Saturday morning and ended on Saturday afternoon. This event was attended by several friends of the Catholic Spiritual Service with the theme "Kindness for Happiness".
This event began with a gathering of the committee and participants at Bank Mandiri FEB UNAIR at 09.00. After the committee and participants have attended and registered, they continue with the journey to Karunia Orphanage which is located at Jalan l Wonosari Wetan Baru gg IX no 2A, Bandar, Surabaya 60154. The journey takes 30 minutes. The event started at 10.30 and the opening of the CHARITY event was marked by a joint prayer and a speech from the chief executive of CHARITY. After the opening was finished, the committee and participants shared stories about life in the orphanage, difficulties during COVID-19 and future targets.
After the sharing session was finished, the next event was giving donations. The donations given were in the form of basic necessities and cash. The committee also provided a plaque as a form of memory and thanks. Then the committee, participants and children were directed to take photos together. The event finished at 10.45 and closed with a group prayer. Exactly at 10.50, the committee and participants said goodbye and thanked the person in charge of Karunia Orphanage then headed home.
