GO AHEAD TEAM FROM UNAIR ISLAMIC ECONOMICS S1 WIN THE THIRD WINNER IN AIRPOL 5.0 EVENT

Airpol 5.0 is a National Essay and Seminar Competition in Indonesia held by the Airlangga University Political Science Student Association. The theme for this year's Airpol essay competition is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the projections of the political economy in Indonesia. Dzikri Nurrohman, Widiyanti Ayu Nilasari, and Syifa Philai Sophia are undergraduate students of Islamic Economics who won 1rd place at the event.

Starting from a desire to fill vacation time, the three colleagues looked for information on an essay competition to participate in. Syifa's colleague said that the reason for choosing the essay contest was because it was easier to make. The essay was carefully and well done with Dzikri and his two colleagues and then sent. They themselves did not expect if they managed to become essay finalists.

The next stage was making a video presentation which was a challenge for them. “At first we had a lot of trouble making videos because we were not proficient in video editing. But we understand that this is the right moment to learn something new. We also try to make videos with the best concept possible.” Syifa said. As a result, Alhamdulillah, on February 20, their team, Team Go Ahead, won 3rd place and received a certificate of appreciation and cash of Rp. 500.000

This competition gave a special impression to Syifa and her two colleagues because it was the first time they won the national essay competition. “This is certainly our spirit to continue to work and excel. We also hope that this victory can motivate our friends to continue to fill their spare time with productive things and have the passion to work.”

Syifa, Dzikri and Widya also said that their goal of bringing up the topic of the potential of the Islamic economy to improve people's welfare in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic was none other than to propagate Islamic economics to the general public. So that people are increasingly aware that the Islamic economy has an important role in national economic development.
