INTEGRATION OF FIQH AND ZAKAT LAW IN ZISWAF MANAGEMENT

(FEB NEWS) The Department of Sharia Economics, FEB UNAIR, in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa East Java, held a talk show with the theme "Integration of Fiqh and Zakat Law in ZISWAF Management" for participants from the Zakat Amil community in East Java, FEB UNAIR Lecturers and Educators along with undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of Islamic Economics, (SDG's 4). This talk show was held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Soepoyo Hall, 3rd Floor, FEB UNAIR.

Present to give a speech was the Head of BPRIN UNAIR – Prof. Dr. Muhamad Nafik Hadi Ryandono, SE., M.Sc., MBA – who in his speech stated that “Dompet Dhuafa is the beginning for a structured social institution to participate in supporting poverty alleviation by distributing zakat funds in accordance with sharia provisions and opening for other zakat institutions to continue to progress and develop. Alhamdulillah”.

The speakers who delivered the material on the importance of the integration of fiqh and zakat law in fulfilling the basic needs of muzakki were
1. Prof. Dr. Drs. KH. M. Amin Suma, BA, SH, MA, MM (Sharia Council of Dompet Dhuafa)
2. Dr. Irham Zaki S.Ag, MEI as a Lecturer at the Department of Sharia Economics, UNAIR and ZISWAF expert at UNAIR

This activity aims to provide insight to the East Java Baznas and Universitas Airlangga and students to participate in supporting research, development of laws, and the implementation of Baznas programs in ZISWAF management.
Participants from Amil Zakat circles in East Java also participated in discussions on the implementation of laws and fiqh related to ZISWAF.
"The hope is that Baznas East Java can optimally implement appropriate laws and fiqh in improving ZISWAF management, especially zakat, to improve the economy of the community, especially Muzakki," said the talkshow participant.

The Talkshow activity, which is a collaboration between the Department of Sharia Economics, FEB UNAIR, and Dompet Dhuafa, is a concrete step that is relevant to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through this meeting, the speakers, Prof. Dr. Drs. KH. M. Amin Suma, BA, SH, MA, MM (Sharia Council of Dompet Dhuafa) along with Dr. Irham Zaki S.Ag, MEI as a Lecturer at the Department of Sharia Economics, UNAIR and ZISWAF expert at UNAIR, have underlined the importance of Dompet Dhuafa's role in relevant distribution in accordance with Islamic jurisprudence and laws to fulfill the basic needs of the people, which is in line with the SDGs, especially targets 1.2 and 8.1 which target access for everyone to at least reduce poverty levels by 50% by 2030 and can increase sustainable economic growth through more productive distribution of zakat funds in the future. In inviting the participation of participants from among Teachers, Practitioners, and Students, Dompet Dhuafa also supports inclusivity and social justice, supporting SDGs 1 and 8. It is hoped that through collaborative efforts like this, Dompet Dhuafa & FEB UNAIR can open access for all levels of society (amil institutions, lecturers, education staff, students and families) to participate in monitoring the distribution of zakat funds that are appropriately used according to sharia, while contributing to the achievement of SDGs targets holistically.
