PEDULI UMK CONSULTING ACCOMPANIES 6 MSMEs IN SURABAYA-SIDOARJO, ENCOURAGING BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION & DIGITALIZATION

Surabaya, Tuesday, August 12, 2025 – Six Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Surabaya and Sidoarjo are now feeling the positive impact of an empowerment initiative initiated by students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) together with the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) Regional Office IV. Through the “Caring for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Community Empowerment Vol. 2” program initiated by the PeduliUMKConsulting Team (@peduliumk.consulting), the mission of business transformation and digitalization of local MSMEs is being intensively implemented.

This program is a concrete manifestation of students' concern for the MSME sector, which is the backbone of the Indonesian economy. The PeduliUMKConsulting Team is led by Aryanti Devina Tamalo and Reza Nafi Rizqi Musyaffa, students of the FEB UNAIR Undergraduate Management Study Program. They assist six selected MSEs, namely Bakmi (Ngagel, Surabaya), Bylawnails (Ngagel, Surabaya), Koekiekku (Waru, Sidoarjo), Too Good to Go (Bratang, Surabaya), UD AJ Abadi (Tanggulangin, Sidoarjo), and BrigadePasopati.com (Sekardangan, Sidoarjo).

Enhancing the Competitiveness of MSMEs in the Digital Era

The program's background stems from the challenges faced by MSMEs, particularly in Surabaya, such as limited access to capital, marketing, and capacity building. "Many entrepreneurs are hampered by a lack of knowledge about business management, digital marketing, and product innovation," explained Reza Nafi Rizqi Musyaffa.

To address the challenges faced by MSMEs, the PeduliUMKConsulting program is designed with a comprehensive approach. The eight main mentoring agendas implemented are:

  1. Digital Marketing Training – equipping MSMEs with online promotional strategies through social media, marketplaces, and digital advertising to make their products more widely known.
  2. E-Commerce Registration – facilitating MSMEs to enter e-commerce platforms to expand markets and increase sales.
  3. Basic Financial Report Preparation Training – introduces how to record simple cash flows so that MSMEs understand the financial condition of their business.
  4. QRIS implementation – supports the adoption of digital payments to make transactions faster, safer, and more efficient.
  5. Omnichannel Implementation – integrating multiple sales channels (offline, e-commerce, social media) for a more consistent customer experience.
  6. Financial Management In-depth – training MSMEs to create more systematic financial reports so they can be used as a basis for making business decisions.
  7. Optimizing Digital Payment Systems – not only introducing QRIS, but also helping MSMEs integrate digital payments with daily transaction management.
  8. Omnichannel Customer Service Strategy – teaches MSMEs how to maintain communication and customer service across multiple channels to create customer loyalty.

Through this intensive mentoring, MSMEs are expected to be able to increase sales by an average of 10%-30%, actively use digital platforms, and demonstrate significant improvements in digital competency.

The “PeduliumK Vol.2” program is a concrete proof of cross-institutional collaboration and student enthusiasm in encouraging local economic growth. In addition, this initiative also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goals 1 (No Poverty), 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), in order to realize Indonesia Emas 2045.
