DANCING AMONG ACHIEVEMENTS: THE INSPIRATIONAL STORY OF KOMANG PUTRI WIDYA PRATIWI, AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT AT FEB UNAIR

(Inspirational Story) Surabaya, Monday, October 6, 2025 – Balancing academics, organizational skills, and personal development is no easy feat for students. However, Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi, or Putri as she's known, has proven that it can be achieved with discipline, enthusiasm, and strong passion.

Born in Denpasar on November 30, 2003, Putri grew up as a dynamic individual with a passion for dancing and a constant desire to hone her potential. She carried this passion into her studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga (FEB UNAIR), where she discovered her identity and the courage to step out of her comfort zone.

Finding Passion at FEB UNAIR

For Putri (who graduated on October 4, 2025), studying at FEB UNAIR is not just about pursuing a bachelor's degree, but also a journey to find her direction in life and explore her potential. She is committed to maintaining her academic achievements until she successfully became the 5th Best Graduate – FEB UNAIR, while actively participating in various activities that enrich her experience and network.
Her achievements reflect this passion. Putri was named 1st Place FEB UNAIR Ambassador 2021 and 1st Place UNAIR Ambassador 2023, two achievements that honed her communication skills and self-confidence. For her, being an ambassador is not only about public speaking, but also about bringing the positive values of the campus to the wider community.

Her experience as an ambassador opened up valuable opportunities. Putri was trusted to be part of the 2024 ASEAN University Games, serving as a judge, MC, moderator, and speaker at various forums. She also won the Best Product Distributor FEB Award 2021, an experience that fostered an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.
To broaden her professional horizons, Putri participated in the Merdeka Internship (MSIB) program at PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. in the Consumer Loan division in her fifth semester. Through this program, she learned firsthand about the world of banking, administration, and risk management—essential skills for her future career.

Active in Organizations and Creative Work:
In addition to her academic achievements, Putri is also active in various campus organizations. She has served as a staff member in the Student Executive Board (BEM FEB UNAIR), as Head of the Human Resources Division in the Student Representative Council (UKMKHD), as Treasurer in the UNAIR Ambassadors Association (Duta UNAIR), and as Chair of the FEB UNAIR Ambassadors Association (Duta FEB UNAIR).

Not only that, he also played a role in various major campus activities, including:
• FEB UNAIR Ambassador Election 2022 – KOC
• MAHABHARATA 2022 – KOC
• PIKMEN 2023 – Deputy Chair of the Events Division
• NIRWANA UKMKHD Competition 2023 – Chair of the Competition Division
• UNAIR Ambassador Election 2024 – Events Division

For Putri, organizations are not just places to do activities, but spaces for learning about life. Through them, she cultivates soft skills such as leadership, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and time management—things not always taught in the classroom.

Tips for Becoming an Achieving Student
: According to Putri, the key to becoming an outstanding student is self-management and balance. She shared several tips that other students can follow:

  1. Focus and Efficiency in Academics
Don't underestimate grades. Be active in class, take notes diligently, and don't cram for study material before exams.
  2. Choose an Organization with a Positive Environment.
Join an organization that aligns with your interests and supports personal growth. A positive environment will foster leadership and self-confidence.
  3. Maintaining Mental Health:
College is a marathon, not a sprint. Take time to rest, do things you enjoy, and know when to take a break.

For Putri, the principle she always holds is simple: “Know your priorities and know when to rest.”

Messages and Hopes for Juniors and Campuses
Closing her story, Putri advised students not to be afraid to try new things.

"Campus is the safest laboratory for life. Try participating in competitions, internships, or organizations. Don't just be a spectator. Every failure is a lesson, and every success, no matter how small, is a valuable asset."

He also expressed his hope that FEB UNAIR would continue to be a home for the birth of future leaders — future leaders who not only excel academically, but also have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and social concern.

Komang Putri Widya Pratiwi's story reflects that education isn't just about achieving high grades, but also about cultivating character, courage, and a passion for continuous growth. Through her dedication and balance, Putri is a true inspiration to other students to continue achieving and bringing honor to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga.
